There are some very useful extras. ESET SysInspector, say, will scan your PC and report on its running processes, network connections, services, drivers, key files and Registry entries, and more. All these details can be recorded in snapshots, taken whenever you like, then you're able to compare any two of these, perfect for highlighting suspicious changes that may indicate a malware infection.
And this version of the suite features several improvements over Smart Security 5. Setup is easier; antispam has been optimised for greater accuracy; extended HIPS functionality means you can set very finely defined rules over what processes can and cannot do; and the suite's gamer mode now ensures you can run full-screen applications without being hassles by security alerts.
ESET's Live Grid is a brand new cloud based reputation system (which used to be ThreatSense.Net) that enables you and others to rate files so scanning can be performed more swiftly. Problematic files can be found before a threat is even detected.
